How to Install

Get started with Flow Control in a few simple steps

Select your browser:

Download

Download the extension files (e.g., as a ZIP) from GitHub or clone the repository. If downloaded as a ZIP, unzip it.

Enable Developer Mode

Open your browser and go to chrome://extensions/, then enable "Developer mode" using the toggle switch (usually in the top-right corner).

Load Extension

Click "Load unpacked" and select the extension folder located inside the project directory you downloaded/cloned.

Start Using

Click the Flow Control icon in your browser toolbar to start controlling video speeds on any site.

Which websites does Flow Control work with?

Flow Control works with any website that uses HTML5 video players, including YouTube, Netflix, Vimeo, educational platforms like Coursera and Udemy, and most video-hosting websites.

Does it affect audio quality?

Flow Control uses the browser's built-in speed adjustment which preserves audio pitch even at higher speeds. This means voices won't sound distorted even at 2x speed.

What happens if a website already has speed controls?

Flow Control works alongside native speed controls. If you use both, whichever was applied last will take effect. For consistency, we recommend using only one method to control playback speed.

How do speed ranges work?

Speed ranges let you set different playback speeds based on video length. For example, you might want to play short videos at 1.25x speed, medium-length videos at 1.5x, and long videos at 2x. Flow Control automatically detects video duration and applies the appropriate speed.
